National Academic Recognition Information Centre
For overseas healthcare professionals wanting to work in the UK, an important first step in determining your eligibility to work here is whether your qualification obtained overseas is equivalent to that in the UK. For the answer to this, you will need to contact the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC).
NARIC will provide, free of charge, a general enquiry and advice service. However, where you require an individual assessment to be made about your own qualifications, which is confirmed in writing, there is a standard charge of £25. For those living in the UK and EU, VAT is payable making the total charge £29.38.
If NARIC confirm that your qualification is not equivalent to your UK counterpart, then it is highly unlikely that you'll be able to practice in the UK. If, however, they confirm that your qualification is equivalent, then you will need to proceed to the next stage of state registration. This is through the Health Professions Council

Health Professions Council
To practice as a healthcare professional in the UK, you will need to be state registered with the Health Professions Council (formerly CPSM). As an overseas national, it is advisable that you apply at least 8 weeks in advance of the time you wish your registration to begin. In other words, you will need to receive confirmation of your registration before you set on your travels. The cost of registering with the HPC is £195 with an annual fee of £22 to retain registration.
Registration can be done by post, on-line or via fax.
