Introduction
Swiis Foster Care is seeking a candidate with the appropriate work ethic and experience to join our ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ rated service in the Yorkshire region. The post is linked to our Leeds office and covers the Yorkshire area. Successful candidates can be home based.
Swiis Foster Care welcome applications from ambitious newly qualified social workers looking to commence a career in Fostering and will support the Assessed Year in Social Work (ASYE) for the right candidate.
Swiis Foster Care operates a hybrid working model, allowing our staff to split the working week between office and home working.
The role
As the Fostering Supervising Social Worker with our outstanding team of Supervising Social Workers, Health Advisors, Education Advisor and Placement Support Workers you will play a key role in ensuring our children and young people achieve, thrive and reach their true potential.
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, committed person who has a passion to work with children and young people, to achieve the aims of Swiis.
As the Supervising Social Worker you will offer professional advice and support to Foster Parents to maintain stable placements. You will be committed to provide a high standard wrap around support to our foster carers by participating in an out of hours on call service.
Working in accordance with the Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011 and the Fostering Services National Minimum Standards, you will support and supervise Foster Carers, maintain compliance standards and forge effective working relationships with the local authorities responsible for the children and young people in placement.
Essential qualities
You will have a good understanding of the needs of children and young people who are in our care and of the challenges that foster parents face in terms of achieving outcomes to enhance life chances and opportunities.
You will have a strong commitment to promote and safeguard the wellbeing of children and you will also have an appreciation of the demands that come with working for a high-quality independent fostering service in an increasingly competitive environment.
You will be passionate about changing a child’s life for the better, working as part of an exceptionally dedicated team and seek to mentor foster parents to excel in their role.
You will need to hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered (registration pending for NQSW) with Social Work England and hold a full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
