Job Role: Fostering Social Worker
Reports To: Registered Manager
Location/Team: Glasgow
Salary Range: £31,000-£38,000 per annum.

Swiis are seeking an experienced Supervising Social Worker, required to join our fostering team in Glasgow. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5:15pm working hours, plus out of hours participation as required, with annual salary of £31,000 - £38,000 per annum, and an attractive benefits package.

This is an exciting opportunity for a registered social work professional to take on a challenging and stimulating role as a Supervising Social Worker, supporting and supervising foster carers and their families.

The ideal candidate will be a committed and personable individual with a current SSSC registration. In this role, you will offer professional advice, guidance, support and supervision to foster carers and their families to sustain children and young people in their placements, ensuring that carers have support in the undertaking of training and on-going professional development. The Supervising Social Worker will also undertake routine planned and un-planned visits to the carers, and further work as part of an out of hour’s service to ensure continuity of support as required.

Good communication is essential between all relevant Local Authority stakeholders responsible for the welfare of the child or young person in placement. Contribution to the carer annual review process will also be required.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Current Social Work Scotland registration and be eligible to work in the UK
  • MA/BA in social work/DipSW/CQSW
  • 2 years’ relevant recent practice experience desirable
  • Thorough understanding of legislative framework pertaining to children and of safeguarding
  • Ability to manage a case load
  • Strong assessment skills
  • Car driver with own car and clean licence
